WIKI

Hello again! Today I took a glance at Wiki that we can use while learning english. Wiki is a web technology used for collaborative publishing on the web. Wiki is a type of server software that allows you to work with data on a remote server on the Web. Users interact with the software through a web interface that lets them read, edit and publish content.

1. TEFLPEDIA

Teflpedia is a wiki dedicated to everything associated with teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) or second language (TESL). Teflpedia have an extensive glossary plus a series of conversation questions.

  • o   There you can create articles and share your experience with others;
  • o   Teflpedia has articles which include advice for new teachers;
  • o   Teflpedia serves as a quick reference providing useful links to an almost infinite number of resources and dedicated websites available on internet;
  • o   There you can participate in ongoing debates.

Actually, I have never heard about such a wiki before. But I think it's very useful resource, aspecially for my future profession. And I'm sure I will try to use it more throughly.

2. WIKIPEDIA
Wikipedia is a free, open content online encyclopedia created through the collaborative effort of a community of users known as Wikipedians. Anyone registered on the site can create an article for publication; registration is not required to edit articles. The site's name comes from wiki, a server program that enables anyone to edit Web site content through their Web browser.

It's a very useful resource where you can find almost any information on any topic that you need. Information base is updated every day. And as a student I use this wiki service very often.

FREE WIKI TOOLS

Wikispaces proves to be one of the best, highly reliable, easy to use and intuitive free wiki platforms to use as your wiki platform. With at least 100 MB of file storage space, it can prove sufficient for most academic needs of a small group. Recent classroom-oriented updates makes Wikispates your top choice for classroom wiki use.
